College Credit Plus

College Credit Plus

What is College Credit Plus (CCP)?

Overview from Ohio Department of Higher Education:
College Credit Plus is Ohio’s dual enrollment program that provides students in grades 7-12 the opportunity to earn college and high school credits at the same time by taking courses from Ohio colleges or universities. The purpose of this program is to enhance students’ career readiness and postsecondary success, while providing a wide variety of options to college-ready students, at no or limited costs to students and families.

Please visit the other sections of their website for answers to Frequently Asked Questions, as well as additional information for Students & Families.
Summer Semester 2020
Summer Semester 2020 courses will be offered in an online format. Here’s a link to the available courses at Columbus State Community College.  Be sure to check the number of available seats!

If you are still interested in taking summer courses, here are a few other important things to know:

  • All courses will still list days and times on the schedule. It is important that students select courses that do not overlap in days and times.
  • The rationale for keeping the days and times on the schedule is that summer lab science courses will conduct labs and lectures through video. Some will be synchronous and some will be asynchronous.
  • Additionally, all instructors will have the liberty to determine whether or not courses will meet at the scheduled time through Blackboard Collaborate. As such, it is imperative that you select sections with designated times that match your availability to be online at that time, if required.
  • There is a registration form available here on the webpage that must be completed. Return the completed registration form to Ms. Wilson via email ([email protected])

If you are interested in taking classes in the fall there is still time to apply. There is a reference document available to walk you through the process. Feel free to email Ms. Wilson ([email protected]) if you have any questions. Placement testing information is below for those of you who are just applying or have not been able to test to this point.

Temporary CCP Student Eligibility and Course Placement
Please be aware there are new guidelines to help us! If you already have test scores that is great. However, if you haven’t taken the placement tests please read below:

Accuplacer (Reading & Writing)
The new, temporary CCP eligibility rules require a new applicant to have an overall high school GPA of 3.0 or higher to be eligible for participation in the CCP program. Our Student Success Center staff will work with Columbus State to confirm your GPA after you have applied. Once your GPA is confirmed you will be Ready to Register. Additionally, due to the current unavailability of reading and writing placement testing, students will also become eligible to register for all courses that require a placement in ENGL 1100.
