The Kae Avenue Campus goals and expectations for student achievement are that by the end of 1st grade, a Whitehall student who is an active reader has the foundational skills of understanding words, has quality conversations about words, and uses those skills and conversations to move to independence in comprehension of text for purpose and enjoyment.
Each day, every student will receive literacy instruction that moves the student toward being at grade level and becoming an independent, active reader. Teachers use a variety of data to monitor student learning and adjust research-based instructional practices to meet the individual needs of students. Classrooms incorporate technology to build 21st-century skills, and the organization of those classes enables purposeful movement among the children. The staff and students are committed to a positive school climate that follows the Kae Avenue motto:
"Respect yourself, respect others, and respect our school."
