Jayne has lived, started, and completed her primary and secondary education at Whitehall City Schools. She graduated in 1972 from Whitehall-Yearling High School. Jayne started public service in Whitehall in 1976 as a legal clerk, then secretary for the Whitehall City Attorney for 10 years. Jayne retired from teaching at Whitehall City Schools in October of 2019. Her passion was teaching and watching ALL Whitehall children grow intellectually, socially, and spiritually.  

Jayne married Mike Shannon, another life long Whitehall resident, for 45 years in March. They have 5 beautiful children and 10 grandchildren. No plans to move.
