P-EBT second round distribution to support remote learners

Attention Whitehall City Schools Families,

Recently, you may have received in the mail a Pandemic-Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) card. This card is issued by the federal Families First Coronavirus Response Act of 2020 that provides this temporary program. Your child received this card because all students who attend Whitehall City Schools are eligible for free breakfasts and lunches through the federally-funded National School Lunch Program (NSLP) of which Whitehall City Schools is registered as a Provision II district. The P-EBT program is locally administered by the Ohio Department of Job & Family Services.

As the new school year begins, the U.S. Department of Agriculture is providing a second-round distribution of the Pandemic-Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) program. This second round is only available to students with remote learning periods lasting at least five consecutive days. This includes students attending schools operating a fully remote model, a hybrid model, or pandemic virtual/digital learning academy within a school that includes remote learning days for at least five consecutive days between the dates Aug. 1 and Sept. 30, 2020.

There is nothing you need to sign up for or register. You can receive more information for this program by going to the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services website here: https://jfs.ohio.gov/ofam/p-ebt.stm
