WYHS Art Teachers, Mindy Staley and Sarah Hebdo, along with 15 WYHS student art advocates, attended Ohio Arts Day at the Ohio Statehouse yesterday (5/11). The Ohio Alliance for Arts Education invited WYHS to send a group of students to serve as advocates.  They visited senators and legislators and shared personal stories about how art has impacted their lives.

This group then attended the 2022 Governor’s Art Awards Luncheon later that day where WYHS Resident Artist, Duarte Brown, was recognized as one of nine outstanding award winners! CONGRATULATIONS Duarte Brown, 2022 Governor’s Award recipient for Arts Education. Duarte is so deserving and we celebrate your artistic investment in our community!
