Sleep is a powerful restorative process. It helps us function better physically, emotionally, metabolically and has a direct effect on our attention and behavior.
Kids of all ages have a harder time learning when they don't get enough sleep. While tired adults often feel sluggish, lack of sleep often looks the opposite for children. Kids running low on sleep are often more hyperactive, easily distracted and struggle to focus. Additionally, it is much harder for students (and adults!) to regulate emotions and behavior without sufficient sleep.
