Summer Brit Lit

Summer Brit Lit

Hello Whitehall!

Welcome to Brit Lit 2201. This class will study the oldest part of British Literature - from the medieval times through the 17th century. I am looking forward to learning about your perspectives on the literature and helping to grow a better understanding of the history of the United Kingdom. But this class is different than anything you have done before: its all reading. Composition 1 and 2 have very little focus on reading - the entirety of this class requires lots of reading and note taking. We are going to be reading some of the most famous works of westeren literature, but be forewarned there is a lot of reading.

To that end, I want to make our return to school in the fall as easy as possible. While not required, it is strongly recommended that you start the readings, especially the novels, this summer. This will take a huge stresser away from you in the fall and allow you to really enjoy the class instead of trying to read the night before. This will make it always feel  like you are just barely staying ahead. All of the readings for the entire class - at least the literature- are posted in the British Literature Google Classroom. Please take some time to prepare for this new and exciting challenge.

I look forward to seeing you all again soon. If you are signed up for the class, let me know and I will add you to the Google Classroom so you can begin work. Please reach out to me with any questions.
