Levy Construction Progress

Levy Construction Progress

In November of 2018, the Whitehall community voted in favor of our combined bond and permanent improvement levy. We want to thank you for your support and want to let you know we take your confidence in us very seriously.

As a refresher, here are some of the things that are forthcoming as a result of the levy:

  • Add classroom space at Rosemore and renovate space at WYHS
  • Replace antiquated heating systems, installing AC, and improve security at Kae North and the Walter Armes Learning Center
  • Preserve storied athletic programs and traditions
  • Meet a growing student body’s technological needs

We are very excited to share with you on this page our progress of the things we have promised when asking for your vote. We will share updates and photos on this page as we progress so be sure to visit often!

April 2019 update

We are proud to announce some of the things to come in the summer of 2019:

  • New turf football field at Mike Ferguson Field (WYHS football stadium)
  • New field house at Mike Ferguson Field to house athletes from multiple sports
  • New tennis courts at WYHS
  • New windows/doors and AC at Kae Avenue North (C. Ray Williams)
  • New windows/doors in the Walter Armes Learning Center at WYHS

May 2019 update

Starting on May 13th, the had begun its renovation with the removal of the sod and the creation of a concrete barrier/curb around the inside of the track. Some of the dirt was then removed and what remained was leveled to prepare the ground for the drainage system that would be installed. The small light towers that were on the inside of the track were also removed.

July 2019 update
Here are some updated photos of WYHS' athletic facilities and new windows as of July 1st. You'll notice some of the new windows being installed towards the back half of the high school, the surface of the tennis court area being prepped for its playing surface, the new multi-sport locker room, and the football field surface ready for turf installation beginning next week! Also, check out our new ram statue and the new home for our victory bell. Both will be located on the field inside the stadium. Go RAMS!
Late July 2019 Update
As you can see from the photos below, the progress has been fast and furious! The turf is completely down on the football field. The logos, numbers, and hashmarks are currently being sewn into the turf. The fencing around the new tennis courts is complete. Next step will be to paint the courts. The multi-team locker room facility is coming along nicely! The walls seem to be nearing completion.
Late July Kae Avenue North Update
Many new improvements going on at Kae Avenue North (C. Ray Williams) this summer! Improvements to our preschool/kindergarten building include new HVAC units, new windows & doors, video surveillance, access control on the doors, and a new roof!
Here are some photos of the new windows and doors being installed. You'll notice the new HVAC units on the roof overtop of each classroom providing comfort during those very hot and cold months!
Late September WYHS Stadium Update
Big things were going on at Mike Ferguson Field at WYHS Stadium. We had a field dedication ceremony before the Rams took on Dublin Scioto on Friday, September 13th. This was the very first game on our new synthetic turf! Guests for the ceremony included our Board of Education, our WCS levy committee chairs and treasurer, WCS administrators, and former WYHS athletes. It was a great night and full of Whitehall pride!

September also saw continued progress on our locker room facility outside WYHS stadium on the southwest corner. Obviously, it is not completed yet but you can see the lockers in place and open ceiling complete. Furniture will be coming soon!

This locker room facility will be open to all WYHS outdoor athletics and visiting teams from football to softball and everything in between!

The goal is to have this facility completed in time for the homecoming varsity football game against Bexley on Friday, October 11th.
